This is a great looking shot of these clouds They look very sinister like some rough weather is coming You have done a great job of capturing this shot

Absolutely amazing shot Cleo, looks unreal - very dramatic and also a little scary! Never seen cloud formations like this before. Great shot.

Thank you very much for your complimentary review. Unusual and dramatic -yes. Scary -no. It's just a cumulus cloud with a lenticular head. The iridescence is caused by ice crystals in the cloud hit by sunlight.

Thank you for your complimentary review. Yes it is amazing what we see above. I'm very lucky to live in the tropics were light phenomena accrue more often. The iridescence is caused by ice crystals in the clouds.

This is very nice Cleo. No modifications at all? This is outstanding. I really am awed by it. Love how it seems to be two pictures in one..but still believeable. Great job.

Thank you. No, no modification. Looking at the sky I know something unusual was coming. We had some iridescence sun dogs earlier that day but not so defined. [Iridescent is caused by sunlight hitting ice crystals]. I follow the weather very closely in hurricane season so I did know there were very cold clouds in the sky and was on the outlook with perfect camera settings. It's not often that I have the perfect setting. Most the time the sky changed to fast but this one was there for a wile.

This is an amazing shot. The shape of the clouds are so great. The iridescence is unreal. I have never seen anything like this. You captured it so well. Great job

Thank you so much for your complimentary review. The iridescence is caused when sunlight hits ice crystals in the clouds. Similar to the water drops in a rainbow.

This is a very interesting shot with a strong initial and creative impact. The cloud in the center sort of looks like an eye with the whiter part being the iris and the the dark cloud that comes forward to the front being the pupil! But all in all I think it's a very nice photograph, thank you for sharing it!

The coloring in this makes it looks more ominous...very scarey...looks like a tornado was forming. Great capture, clarity, detail, and composition. Nice work.

Thank you for your complimentary review. No that wasn't a tornado neither was it dangerous at this time. The iridescence accrues when ice crystals in the clouds are hit by sun light similar to the water drops in a rainbow.

Very unusual and eye catching colors in this image Cleo. Love the towering cloud, looks very imposing. Great composition. For some reason this is especially cool in the thumbnail--great eye catcher!

Thank you so much. I think in the small version it looks like a person with a sombrero.
