Very good subject, excellent pose. However, don't be afraid to have more background in order to center the eye of the bird, making it the focal point. In this photo, the unfocused feathers are the focal point, sending the eye running to something familiar. Position the bird with a colorful background that compliments its beautiful feathers.

This would be a fantastic image if only some part of it were slightly in focus. If you camera doesn't focus this closely naturally, try backing off a foot or so and crop it to your liking later.

Very beautiful conier. I love his expression, they are always thinking are/nt they. He seems a bit out of focus. The colors are good and the lighting very well done.
