This is lovely, I think that your creativity was spot on with this piece, good unity of colours and the repetitive shapes formed by your filter have done a wonderful job of creating a unique snowflake. The blue adds a nice contrast that allows us to appreciate all the textures and shapes you have offered up here. I think it may have been nice to have been able to see where all of your snowflake's spokes ended -they are cut off or ran out of room on the screen(not sure which) but it leaves me feeling like there is untapped possibilities there. Other wise, nice and original -just like all snowflakes are!

    Hi Crystal,
Kaleidoscopes are tricky to work with, you have to know when to stop because if you expand the view other designs just beyond the fringe come in to view and ruin the design. There are times when you are lucky and can fit the whole image in with empty space around it. This was not the case with this design. If I had shown all the tip ends of the the snowflake I would have ruined the picture. I thought it was too pretty to ruin it.

I hope that explains why I did the picture the wat I did. I' glad you enjoyed the parts that were revealed. Thank you for the great review.

Wishing you A HAppy New Year

It definately explains things for me, and I am really glad you took the time to share that information with me - taking the time to explain helps me learn about the process you went through to create this. I am not a digital artist but I REALLY enjoy learning about new mediums and techniques...thanks Helvi! Crystal Calbert

And a winter wonder it is. There is nothing like the amazing shape of a snowflake. They are so intricate and you have detailed that nicely. The dark blue makes a great background. Initial impact, creativity, use of mixed media and presentation are very good. Thanks for sharing and the best of the new year to you.

This is just beautiful. You've created a beautiful snowflake, with a richly intricate, lacy design. I like the blue background adding to the natural effect.

Very nicely done.

What an original idea. To use snow to make a snowflake! Usually these are made up of flowers and such. This is gorgeous. It has the wonderful symmetrical lacy details of a real snowflake and the same crystalline structure as well. Great job!

I love the Kaleidoscope application, it seems that if I turn my head slightly another design will appear. Blue is the perfect background color. The amount of thought and creation you put into this MM developed into a terrific piece of art. The original photo of the pines covered with snow must be lovely as well. A Wonderful New Year to you. Sandy
