Powerful digital painting and the commentaries as well; strange look, almost masculine, modified by sorrow and pain; I like the feline yellow eyes and the overflown hair with firely colors.

Thank you Nona. I appreciate your kind review. Interesting that you mention the feline look of the eyes. One of my reference pictures was indeed a close up photo of a cat face. Inspired by Modigliani, I had the eyes empty in first as blind from seeing to much but it couldn't impress the tortured soul of this women. I needed eyes but I didn't want them to human so I mixed feline in since the horrors of war seams to bring the animal instincts and feelings out in the human race.

A Truly moving work of art here. Such a strong suggestion of pain and grief, title very appropriate. The eyes are haunting in thier emptiness. Your composition works beautifully, strong impact, and thier appears to be fire and chaos all around her, it encompasses her, as if she is part of, or caught in the middle of it. I would have given you a higher rating had I one left. Fantastic work of art. Good luck in the contest. Peace.

You got it exactly right. She is engulfed by the flames, cut in the middle of war she didn't want to be part of.

That is a very moving digital painting. The expression on the woman's face sends your message perfectly. The colors are most appropiate, esprcially the eyes and their expression.

Thank you John, I appreciate your review and thoughts very much. I don't know if we need wars as population control. The human is the only animal who is overpopulated and goes to wars. But you are right it seams to be part of the nature of the human animal. But I'm an optimist maybe sometimes that animal will learn from nature. Otherwise they won't survive.

I think we both are right. Human is a slow learner. If they were smarter we wouldn't have overpopulation. Usually nature take care from the black death to earth creaks and hurricanes. ~cleo

Thank you for your kind review. It's right, the hear is merged with flames. She is engulfed by and part of the horrors of war symbolised by the flames.

Beautiful artistic rendering full of emotive draw! I really find the portrayed fiery angst, troubled inner reckoning and blends of mirrored expressive turmoil so intense and inevitably inescapable and almost haunting with that glowing look behind those eyes.
