Great sky capture. I love that you included the definition or explanation of what it is. In North Dakota where I used to be from, Rainbows almost like this used to be called "Sun Dogs" because they only occured in the winter from frozed water crystals in the sky. Great stormy gray clouds at the bottom with a couple white ones and the deep blue sky all surround this neat rainbow you caught. Nice capture. God bless,

    Thank you very much, No this isn't a sun dog, we see sun dogs here also. This one is much bigger and wile sun are dogs are usually beside the sun, this arc is right over head in the zenith of the sky.

Beautiful capture and the rainbow in this situation is unusual. The composition is good and I like the formation of the clouds which has added more interest for the viewer.
