Well done with the pasting of the heads, you can't tell it has been done.
Great details on the two snakes.
The background is very busy and quite distracting to me.

Great shot of the snakes. I wouldn't tell anyone about the heads, I would never have noticed. This is a great idea. I would lighten the heads a little and darken the bodies to draw a little more attention to the snakes. I think the background and foreground need to be darkened quite a bit in order to emphasize the snake bodies. Good shot and thanks for sharing.

This is an amazing shot, both in content and in composition! Love the greens against the snakes, and the ray of light is nice as well. Did you know these guys can flatten their heads to look like pit vipers..pretty cool Donkeyoatey

I didn't know that! You must know more than I do about these snakes. My first encounter with the black norhtern watersnake was three was three years ago. As far as wild snakes go the female of this spieces is the biggest snake I've ever seen. I wouldn't want one in the house, but outside I think they're prety cool. Thanks for the wonderful review and info. Helvi :o)

Thanks! You don't know how long it took me to get those heads right. Getting a shot with so much open space around the snakes was fantastic, it just doesn't happen! I loved the shot, except for the heads, so I was determined to fix them. Thank you so much for the wonderful review. Helvi :o)

very nice. I would call this making out. I like how they are "making out" The colour of snakes captured very nicely the shine of the skin and the detail. The background is very appealing as well. Thanks for sharing this photo.
