Image aptly tilted, showing the old and the new.Interestingly, the new is slightly highlighted by a glint of light reflecting off the edge of the watch, whilst the old exhibits the rustic, darker look.

Time is eternal it is just our time that is so short.

Nice juxtaposition - the muted colors and erosion of time contrasted with the (almost) here and now. Nice composition, sharpness and story.

Thank you for your kind review. Your approval means a lot to me. You are the only one who got the juxtaposition what was purpose. That was one of the cases were I don't follow rules. Got blamed for it of curse. Sorry for responding late but now were the contest is over I could write more personal.

This is beautiful! I like both the pottery and the watch face! Both very nice--hard to believe these things were being discarded! Very nice! Cindy

Thank you Cindy, I always appreciate your reviews. Sorry for responding late.
P.S. these things were discarded but I rescute both for farther photo use but the pottery is very crumbly. It isn't a Mayan original but an replicate.

That is a creative idea for a picture. It illustrates the variety of things people throw in the trash. The still life is well composed and presented, with good color, lighting, and contrast.

Is this some kind of a metaphor? Wonder what the time on the watch 5.30 indicates?Interesting combination of ageless time and shortlived pottery. This is a nice composition.I like it

Yes it is some kind of metaphor but the time 5:30 is just the time the watch had when I found it. The metaphor are the circles. The broken pottery is an replica of an circular ancient Mayan artifact. The Mayan people see time and history not as a we do but as repeating circles. The modern watch also is a circle, both circles are broken in this case. It's my metaphor of the relativity of time. If we see time as the age of our universe 100 years don't count but if we see it from our life and life span hundred years are a lot. I could have called the photo On the Edges of time as well.

Thank you for your input. it is fascinating. Time is actually created by man. In the Universe there is no concept of time-past future. It is PRESENT.

The contrast of history and new is so good, shiny and dull, technology, ancient times... this is great. So many stories that could be shared over time. Great use of two random pieces. Really is expressive. Thanks!

Pottery shard is great. Beautiful design. Your Focus is very good as is your clarity and color. Light could be better, the glare is a bit distracting.

Thank you very much. Is the glare distracting bad? I had a lot of trouble to get it in a position were it was in as metaphor for our modern glairy times. The pottery shard looks better that way since the modern watch take some attention of. Its really not a so good piece. It is one of these pieces made as tourist traps or for garden deco down here.

I like the contrast between the old/ancient and new(er) plus the contrast between the dark and light. The antique stone in the background almost looks like an ancient Mayan calendar-type stone. Very nice composition and all-around good.

Thank you. I appreciate your kind review. You have an very good eye. The stone in the background is indeed Mayan but it's not the calender stone. It is an broken replicate of a sacrifice bowl.
