What a cool find. Like the fact that most everything is blurred keeping the head and tongue the clear subjects. Got a good angle showing the full head and long tongue. He's a fuzzy thing. Colors and lighting are good. Love the eyes. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice macro- shows great detail of his face and the blossom he's sipping on. Nice background blur. I would of preferred a little longer dof.

My reviews are set with "Blinders On" which means the names of those who are being reviewed, are not shown.
Thus the reviewer does not know who the artist may be or if they are one of my Fans and so am not influenced by reputations of the artist. That way you get an unvarnished review of your work, as each piece is a new challenge for you.

The challenge for an artist or photographer, is to make their work look as good online as the original subject. For reviewers can only judge what we see.

Your work looks good, on my monitor, it would probably would make a really good print.

With a great range of gray zones, it gives the colors more impact.

You have good composition. The light grabs attention the whites show detail.

Sharpening is important.
When we edit digital images, even resizing causes a loss of sharpness. Final sharpening can make them look the way we want...

You could use some adjustment for full range or sharpness.

Keep practicing or learning more and a year from now, you can be surprised at your work. :)

With 74 years experience, am still learning new techniques.

When we communicate feelings to one or more people, we are successful. Money is not the only measure of success.

Nice capture and close up. To have improved this, you should have focused in the whole bug instead of just his face and tongue. But it is still good. Focus is good. Framing is well done.

Great silver spotted skipper photo. The angle is just great for some action and dynamic direction. The color scheme is well done and the background is perfect. Perhaps a little dark vignetting to help keep the eye on the insect and not on the flower so much. Overall, a wonderful photo and great specimen to have in your collection. Thanks for sharing your find.

Initial impact:As flip Wilson used to say The silver tongue devil. Lighting is very nice. Not over powering. Action is slurping the good stuff. Bring his own straw presentation. Color harmony is good. Center of interest is the straw and the bug. Cropping is good. Focus is sharp. Depth of field is in effect blurring out the un-wanted background. Story telling is in the title and artist?s notes.
Comments:Does that straw retract all the way back into the bug?

Thank you so much! The tongue has a different name, I don't know now what it is really called, it curls up under itself and does not go inside.
