This is a fantastic photo. I think it may be a Golden-Fronted Woodpecker. He has wonderful colors. Great capture of colors and details. Great presentation, thanks for sharing.

getting good at this macro bird shots! I love the focus and detail, to me thats the key to these. That and getting a situation where you have good strong light to give you flexibility in your settings.

You're killing me with these bird shots willie. Everyone is so clear and well focused. The colors are all so natural and vivid. Please tell me you use a tripod...no One is that steady. LOL. Thanks for sharing another good one.

Thank you so much. This is hand held, I tried using a tripod, don't work very well, the monopod is to tall. I shot a fast shutter speed! 750 / 1000 on sunny days I have tried the slower shutter speeds but have to many bad ones. On overcast days I will sht around 250 / 300.
