Your birds have better luck fishing than I do. I like the monochromatic effect with the bit of emphasis on the head. Great separation from such a monochromatic shot. Well exposed and sharp. Might have cropped a little tighter top and right [just a little] and there seems to be some noise. I would hang this one.

Thank you so very much! It surprised mr the fish did not swim off when he was pecking the ice. These guys never come out in the bright sunlight, always on over cast days. I shoot a fast shutter speed to not get any blur. The noise comes from that. I use the blur tool in ps to minamize it. The only other thing that works is to use the paint brush in ps. It depends on what the background is. I have about 50 good ones of this guy and others. I plan to hang a couple but not shure which ones.

I recently bought a Topaz denoiser and am really happy with it. I previously had imagenomics but does not work with CS5

The timing is really good. I like where the bird is in the frame.
The colours are nice too. The bird looks nice with the ice & water in terms of colours.
Background seems a bit pixelated, however, it isn't the focus & the subject is pretty clear so its not really distracting.

Thank you so very much! I shoot at a fast shutter speed, You hardly ever see this guy on a sunny day, only on an overcast. I have had this problem for a while. If I shoot at a slow shutter speed The action gets blured. I really don't know what to do to keep the noise down.

You're welcome. I don't use digital so I'm not sure how to fix that, but like I said, the subject is perfectly clear so I was able to overlook it.
