holden, this is fantastic. Can I have it? Sincerely, I think it is quite powerful, although somehow peaceful and inviting at the same time. The face is beautifully rendered and although white, doesn't look pale at all. The contrasting background is perfect. There also is something wonderfully appealing about the woman being placed where she is and having the space above. Gives the impression, along with the title, that many of the whispers she hears are secrets. Indeed, what I whispered is a secret. I really do think this is a wonderful work.
Peace,
Papa

Interesting depiction of Megan, who looks almost spanish and with the backround could be an el greco sort of look too. Was curious. Best wishes.

thank you:) the photo (of the mouth speaking into the ear) is simply photocopied from a fibre based print i made, then decopaged on, and painted back into.

That is really crazy and oool looking. Good use of black and white and color. I wish I could have seen how you got the photo part on there.

thank you very much. the photo is simply a photocopy of a fibre based print, then decopaged onto the canvas and painted back into afterwards. it is a wonderful technique. another technique, which i used in my other painting posted here, is a photo transfer. that is when you paint acrylic medium in layers over the photocopy, allow them to dry, and then wash it under water. the paper peels off, leaving a transparent image in the medium.

Really nice job. The face is wonderful. The backround colors are nice except for the white splotch over the head. It became distracting to me. Keep up the good work.

thanks again for your comments. the white splotch is actually an unfortunate reflection from a camera flash, it picked up on a bit of glaze in the paint.

This looks like a painting and I think its great. Your colors in the fact trully add a Goth Edge to it, where the background reminds me of a poorly painted bathroom stall to the grungy theater where a local band is playing. Thats just me, it just pulls me to someplace similar in mood. Excellent piece!

I like the mystery of this piece. The rich black velvet that reveals an intimate moment between two is attractive to the eye. I like that you pushed the focal subjects to the bottom left of the piece, giving it that sense of capturing a private moment, however...all that vast space with brushstrokes of reds, greens and scant light seems to lack something. If the canvass were a lighter tone with her casted shadow reflecing on the wall with more defined facial lines...this might have been more striking, especially with her paled, creamy complexion. There also appears to be a crease running through where her cheek line runs up through her eyebrow.

Just the hintings of the man's features from behind, adds romantic teasings. Interesting art piece.
