Spring is here and all the birds are out. This bird is very pretty and I love its blue color! I like your composition with bird on this wrought iron. Your DOF is great! Your techniques, levels, and colors are excellent (as always)!

Great photograph of the Bluebird Willie. It looks like it is just patiently waiting for you to finish taking the shot and then leave. Great Bokeh was that all I the camera or did you add it? Either way it is really good and really set off the bird and perch. I have to get out of town if I want to see any Bluebirds there is a lot of boxes on fence post throughout the area. They won't let me give you any more sixes so here is another cyber 6 Dave

Thank you so very much! There was a lot of grain in the back ground so I just matched the colors that was there.

So this is a Bluebird? I've heard of them but never seen one. It is a lovely creature; nice makings and soft muted colours. The arch it is sitting on is great and really sets it off. Good DOF and another great image.

What a pretty boy. Have you ever used the {Peterson Field Guides and are you an avid birder in addition to being a terrific photographer, combining them both. I ask because I was Roger Tory Peterson's publicist for many years.
This is a lovely shot, love the color, the detail and the placement of this dear little fellow. Perfect framing and composition and lovely background blur.

I have been around peterson field guides all my life. My mom and dad were birders my dad A.L.(bert) Powell started the local KOS
and the audubon socity. I went with them on bird walks when I was newborn. They carried me in a back pack. A lot rubbed off on me through the years. I have Peterson guide on eastern birds and buterflys. I have some audunon guides too. I used to go to the meetings but I don't care for that anymore. Dad died three years ago mom four. I took dad to a few of the meeting while he was still able. The bluebirds was dads favorites. He has put up many a box for them.

wonderful -- do you have first editions? Roger was a funny man and nice too. I also liked his wife Ginny, who became a good friend of mine through the years.

No I wish I did! The books dad had was worn completly out! He had black tape holding one together. He was the authority on birds in western Kentucky. He did not need the guide very often but he still carried it. You would have enjoyed my dad, he was a character. He loved nature and people. Everyone who came in contact with him was treated like an old friend. If he knew you had an interest in birds you wold have a hard time getting away from him!
