Great focus on this Willie, I can even see the dandruff in its feathers, I do not know how you got so close, Very good shot.

This is an amazing shot. The colors and details are great. Lighting and focus are great. Like the way you filled the frame. Initial impact is WOW. Keep taking the unusual shot. Southernbelle

She does not look too happy. Eye is clear but too much fuzzy everywhere else. I know you want the focus on the eye. I like the reflection of the sun on the eye. good title. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! This is an amazing close up of a cardinal's eye! At first glance I couldn't tell what kind of animal it was because the feathers look so thick close up! Nice work!

Comments:You need to get that f-stop higher, I assume your using a flash and that your within a couple of feet. I would crank that f-stop up until you start losing the light. The flash should allow you to keep the same shutter speed or a tad slower. You will increase your DoF and the picture will be so much sharper.Dont get me wrong, this is a great shot and your DoF is dead on the eye. Its just so narrow.try it see what you think.

Thank you so very much! I have my settings all on automatic, I just change the shutter speed and everything adjusts to it. I was not aware the fstop would increase dof. I am tickled you have told me this. I will get my book out and study how to have control of the f stops I am so glad you mentioned this. I have had this problem for a while and thought it was something I wad to live with.

Oh my goodness that is an awesome photo. What an amazing close up shot- the detail is exceptional! So cool. You did a great job with this one- half a face is not something I would do, but neat still.
