It must be a lot of colorful birds where you live. The blue colors in this small finch are really rich. As always the image is pin sharp showing all the lovely details in the bird. I can see that you use the same lens as I have, but still I wonder how the backgrounds always are so evenly blurred. You never mention anything about adjusting the background. When I take a photo with that lens I always get something in the background that I wish to get rid of. The background is lovely of course, and I am just curious. Also this photo deserves a higher rating. The composition is just outstanding.

Thank you so very much! There is colorful birds everywhere, most people don't see them because they are to busy to look. I also feed them and they congrigate there for the food! The green background is forest. To the left it is all pine so even in the winter I have the green. I am shooting somewhere else for a few days and you will start seeing different backgrounds!

Thank you so very much! If you drive in the country on old country roads you will see them flying from the top of grass, I think they are even where you live, but not sure! You still live in oklahoma?

Yes, I'm in Oklahoma but I've never seen one of these guys, I don't believe. I'll keep my eyes open for them now!

They will be darting around and they are small, if you are not watching close you will miss them!

Beautiful capture of the black eye. The DOF and the framing are adequate. The colors are nicely natural. I appreciate your informative comments.

This is a very interesting close up. The details are amazing. Even the gray feathers, partly hidden under the blue show beautifully. The beak seems to have an almost metallic texture. Beautiful capture of the black eye. The DOF and the framing are adequate. The colors are nicely natural. I appreciate your informative comments.

Thank you so very much! I don't think they live in Arizona not sure. I think in the grasslands in texas all the way to the east coast!
