Now this is Soooo coooool. A pelican coming in for a landing.
What fabulous stop action to get this. My only wish is you could have darkened the area around the pelicans head. But... wow! A pelican in flight with his wing span like this and feet down as if wheels on a plane about to land... Wicked coool!

Thanks for feedback - Aperture F11.0 ISO400 Exp Time 0.002s (1/500) I took a series of pictures as the pelican flew over but I had never seen a bird move like this in mid flight.

You certainly got a good capture here. I know this is stop action photography, but bird looks like it is about to crash. The sky is a deep blue color which really helps create contrast with the bird. You have a good focus on the main subject.

This is a fantastic image. Good COI, focus, crisp detail and shot of his landing gear. Nice blue sky. I think that a landscape shot would have been much better. Too much sky on top and not in the front. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, an earlier review also suggested landscape view and I must admit I have the landscape view printed out and on display I cropped it for FAR to center the subject but can understand your comment when comparing the two.

Pretty nice picture with a clear COI and good story. The color and composition are fine. The lighting is fairly well but could have the highlights darkened a bit to make the details of the head show a little better and calm the bright spot too.

Thanks for the feedback - when I get PhotoShop I hope to be able to fine tune currently I am only able to crop or make minor contrast change.

How funny.
Looks like he is getting ready to bring down his landing gear.
What a great composition. Good focus also.
