How could anyone try and shoot this beautiful dove?? Oh well, to each his own I guess. This is a great image. I really like the colors and the detail. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe I haven't seen a dove up close, but this one seems to have unusual colorings to me. I think it's very beautiful, including the red feet! Love the cock of his sweet little head!

Great focus and details, great lighting, and great layout. You captured it in a good pose. I often see them doing this when they are interested in figuring out what they are looking at. Great capture.

Beautiful shot. I like mourning doves and the pinkish brown color of their wings. I love that you captured the curious cock of his head. Nice focus...Coffee

Nice "catch" of a charming bird. So sorry to hear that they are hunted. I have some that hang around my neighborhood and I love to hear them sing. The flap of their wings has a very distinctive sound, too. Nice soft colors, makes the feathers look velvety. Good background, too. Love the pop of color in the feet, beak and eye. Nice work! Your feeders come in handy Willie.
Would be a lille unsporting to shoot it now though.
Good colour and light, sharp focus with bokeh.
Looks like the dove is telling a story by the intent look??

Thank you so very much! When I was in my teens I hunted them, but like I said they are hard to hit. When they are in flight and trying to avoid beeing shot they are moving about 80 mph! I shot a lot of shotgun shells and got my shoulder sore but not many kills! I have not hunted since I was about 18. Now I still hunt but with a camera!
