I am missing something. This picture doesn't grab my attention, I think it's bad. The gun and the hat seem awkwardly place next to a tree, not natural at all. The story was terribly difficult to read and even after reading the story I still disliked the picture. But!, I WILL say something good, the color is good, though, with confidence I say nothing else. I verily spoke my mind.

Sorry you felt the need for revenge instead of taking into consideration your photos can be improved as all ours can, IF you do as most do on this site, except and learn from constructive criticism. I can tell a major difference in the quality of my photos since first joining FAR. I know this review is just revenge because that is the only reason someone would 'hunt' down a post and review for 2 cents. Revenge always comes back to bite in someway, however, won't be by me, don't do revenge---

You are right, partly, but if I would have saw it randomly without getting your review of my picture first I would have gave it quite nearly the exact review. I would have done critics on more of your other photos, your better ones, but I spent to much time with your 2 cent one. And I hardly believe you don't do revenge, you mention quite clearly in you story how you played a joke on your brother which could be taken as an act of revenge. Sorry I just don't believe you. Okay I am done and I've got it all out..I'm fine now, thank you.

I love this one Deb!! Great work on the rifle-- is that a 20 or 12 gauge?(sorry its hard to see, so I can't tell for sure) I have a couple black powder, not to mention my up to date semi autos! Great clarity, the hat just seems to complete this shot, just amazing work by you!!

Thank you very much Berns for your review, however, is most helpful if you explain what in your opinion what might improve the photo, the FAR family expects that, as you will soon recognize, when you get no explaination for fallen stars. Welcome to FAR!!

A nice set up shot Low, the composition and lighting are there. I really like that hat. Great story you have include for this shot. The texture and some of the bark missing from the tree adds to this image. Nice job!!!

My O My!!!! This is a most effective photograph.
It is set perfectly and is in total balance.
The colors are great and so is the clarity.

My initial impact was 'Wow!!! I have never seen such clarity and such a top level photo for a while..."
It is well presented...and looks fine even without an Border or edge...it works.
The colors harmonize and blend naturally with such earthiness that one is immediately aware that we are dealing with a scene that is both from the country and near to the earth and the Land.
The story given adds to this impression.
The well decorated hat is the center of interest, and in itself has the viewer asking questions about the decorations, and the gun and the tree.
Technically it is a well photographed image which nakes for a perfect shot.
The lighting has made this clarity possible...the lighting is almost perfect for when the photograph was taken.
Well done...Most creative and imaginative...and I love the story that goes with the photo.

Great idea but I think a drifferent color tree would be better because the barrel of the gun is almost the same color of the tree, another color would make the gun stand out more giving a more vivd look to the shot.
