oh how precious !! the work these absolutely magical creatures do for their nests .. I observe them all the time ..in our garden , you are right , unusual sight to spot , you were rewarded !!looking forward to seeing those eggs of hers ..perhaps you might be lucky enough to see baby hummingbirds ..how precious that would be

Wow, this is fantastic. How did you ever get a shot of a humming bird,let alone in such detail and focus, and with her that material in her beak. Technically very well executed, a once in a lifetime shot, and like you say, so rare. You should submit this to national geographic, they have regular contests on line. This is a very well executed and informative image. Great job.

Wow, this is fantastic. How did you ever get a shot of a humming bird,let alone in such detail and focus, and with her that material in her beak. Technically very well executed, a once in a lifetime shot, and like you say, so rare. You should submit this to national geographic, they have regular contests on line. This is a very well executed and informative image. Great job.

The crop works well here as does the color adjustment. The depth of field helps point the eye in the right direction. Good close up.
