Patience pays off...Nice Job. One of the challenges for taking photos of a humming birds nest is to find a way to show the real size. They are actually smaller than a penny.

Good camera management, resulting in a clear, focused, composed photo.

FYI: the humming birds will leave the nest between 21 1nd 24 days from the laying of the eggs depending upon the availability to find the right balance of protein food for the growing fledglings.

I had the opportunity of photographing a sequence of photos for the entire 23 day. The best one was the last photo that was taken about 2 hours before they left the nest.

    Thank you so very much! I was reading about them and they are going to hatch in about 2 weeks. I will be checking them every day when they hatch! This is a thrill for me!

This is a really great capture of a cute little hummingbird in it's nest. I have never had to opportunity to see one in it's nest either. Great details and I love that you can see the nest material on his beak. Great job!

Oh Willie! I envy you.. You live in a place full of beautiful birds. I'm sure this is a rare thing to spot. I'm not sure if I have ever even seen a Humming bird!
This is a beautiful picture. It's unique, well composed with good lighting and an interesting subject. Good storytelling and title.
Kudos to you for the effort put in to get this picture. I would look forward to seeing the picture of the eggs too!
