This is a nice shot with a good initial impact. The COI is the head or eyes of the animal. It's not a racoon though. We have plenty of racoons where I live. The color and lighting are fine, but the picture isn't showing all the detail and is a little soft. Maybe that's from not using a tripod or from dwonsizing the photo without sharpening it after the downsize. A little EXIF data could help us more with that. Good job though.

Thanks for comments - taken with Nikon 3100 - Exposure time 1/125 and Aperture f5.3 - may have had it on auto at time, can't quite remember as it is still a very new camera and my first SLR so lots of practice needed.

You're welcome and I hope it is easy learning the new piece of equipment. It's real easy to even cary a monopod when a tripod seems too much to carry and they can come in very handy. I went to a zoo 2 months ago and that is all I took with me as I walked all day long there and at a city park in St. Louis afterwards.

This is such a neat looking little animal. I like the way you took this so close up of him. I think your focus is off a little as parts of him look a little blurred. Still a neat picture.
