Thanks for such a nice review, much appreciated. If it hadn't been behind glass I would not have got close either :)

Very well focused and captured image. Excellent composition. The snake is beautiful and unusual. Did you find out what kind of snake it was?

like the picture, good color and good sharpness, he has an eye on you. I was weeding my flowers today, which needed weeding badly and pulling out a handfull of long grass and weed, i was suprised with a small snake in my hand along with the grass. Thanks

Certainly glad I'm not there. The colors in the snake are very clear. His skin is very visible, along with the white round spots and the black dots.Very well cropped and the snake is the center of interest curled around the tree. Thanks for sharing

The snake pops out with color, and seeing that you must have taken it through the glass, not to bad. Still the focus is a little short, great story telling ability, and nice lighting.

This is an interesting snake but with a little effort you can improve the image.

This snake is presented to bright, almost no detail is visible in the snakes head. In most photography of people, animals, insects, etc., under normal conditions the head and the eyes should be the sharpest area on a photograph. An to make these areas appear sharp, these areas must all have the proper exposure.

To get good exposure, when ever you encounter a nice subject like this, take multiple exposures above and below the camera recommended setting - usually one will come out correctly.

If you shoot in the RAW mode, you can make a lot larger exposure/brightness correction than you can in a JPEG file and this can often save a bad image.

You can also make localized burn/hold back adjustments in your photo processing software.

Unless you are shooting for the news or law enforcement, you are allowed to make corrections after the exposure.

Good subject, Good color and I do like snakes, would only reccomend a bit of patience to get the snake in a slightly better position but that is the most difficult thing about shooting reptiles ! great shot !
