Comments: Great picture of the bride. Very well composed. Nice colors. Thanks for your artist notes. It would be extremely interesting to know what camera settings the "P" generated. Thanks for sharing.

What I love the most about this is that you didn't over
edit her face. So many portraits are so "corrected" with software that they don't even look like the same person! She has a glow in her cheeks and a bit of natural shine on her brow and chin, and a few freckles on her nose. She looks beautiful and natural. You did a fantastic job.

A very lovely bride. You have a lovely shot of her in this picture. It would have been so much nicer without step in the background. Otherwise very nice Pat

You seem like you know a lot about photography so I am going to give you a really honest review.

Lighting and white balance: her dress becomes quite yellow towards the train and this is probably more of a lighting issue than a white balance issue since the rest of her dress is nice and white. Be very careful; brides spend a lit of money to get their white wedding dress! The lighting on her face is quite flat and harsh. Consider using a loop lighting pattern instead of this straight on butterfly and perhaps diffuse that flash a little to make it a softer photo, especially if they are studio set up wedding photos. Her skin tone is quite nice, just a little more depth in her face would be nice.

Composition: The red ?step? in the background is nothing but a distraction. If you are doing a straight on photo, perhaps crop closer and make it a face shot; otherwise the rule of thirds might help the interest a little. Watch for hands; her front hand looks nice and relaxed, however her back hand looks awkward (you can tell she is concentrating really hard on posing!)
Pose: Weight on the front hip always makes a person look larger in the hips and waist than with weight on their back leg. The wideness of her legs in this pose is not really a "wedding" pose some would say (I really don't care each to their own). Also, legs always look better when the weight is pushed up on the ball of the foot to flex the calf.

She is a beautiful woman, and unless she has taken education in photography, she probably loves this photo. As someone who does wedding photography and is educated mostly in portrait photography, I would pick some goals within your wedding photography to make it go from good, to better, and great!

Thank you so much! The church had colored lights. It made it hard to get the color rite. At the time I did not have a defuser but now I do. I understand what you have pointed out. As far as the pose, This was something I have wanted to do for a while. She is a pretty girl and was suited to do this pose. I left the rail in because I thought it added a bit of interest. I did not know about the weight on her front hip, good pointer! Thanks again!

What a great shot for her to have always. Great focus, nice colors, and story telling ability, She will cherish this for years to come.

Nice bride image. I do not like her leg pointed so far from her body. I think it would be more dignified if her foot were brought back in line with the edge of the dress like she were stepping up. This just looks like she is showing off her leg which detracts from her very pretty face. Thanks for sharing.
