Start off with the negative - would like to see the eye a little bit more clearly and would position the bird more to the right.
That said, very nice image, catching the hummingbird in a great pose with the brakes applied. Nice shutter speed to capture the wings with a good amount of motion blur but not too much to destroy the detail and structure. The light coming through the feathers gives the image life. Good overall sharpness, great background - very soft but with variations in brightness and exposure value good to set off the bird.
Great image and good luck in the contest - looks like a very potential winner.

This is very pretty. Nice lighting, I like the way it is coming through his wings. Good focus on head and body-usually I would prefer the wings to be sharper but this kind of works with the blur.
