death of a sunset

I seem to have death on the mind.

Initially, I had thought you were doing a slogan for the kamikaze beverage. The sunset rippling out its sheen around the word gave me that impression. Nice colors, presentation of lettering and the background suits the subject's illustration. If it were to have connotations of death and destruction..the sunset appears as a sunrise to me and doesn't quite fit with the themes of the word. It contrasts with the impressions, I at least drew from it.

You are the very first person to critique my work. Wow. Anyways, yes, it seems a happy ad-like piece, but the death part......well, my family has experienced a few tragedies in the last few months, first being the suicide of my uncle on thanksgiving. Happy times, the colors, kamikaze, suddenly. Also, while that happened, the deterioration of my granny, my uncle's mother, the matriarch is still going on. It's a gradual process, like a setting sun, but morbid, because she has alzhemers. Pretty, because she has had a wonderful long life. I know, my mind doesn;t work quite right. Songs I write tend to be sweet, happy melodies with blackened, off beat words. Anyways, thank you so much for taking an interest!!!

I like all the messages in your interpretation. Nice colors that attract you as a sunset would..then there's the "death" of the whole thing as the color "dies" and crumbles below....did u get that eval yet??? (smile)....have fun with it! Good job!

you're actually the first to give me that eval, even I never thought of it! Oh, I love this, I've never really had my work critiqued (besides idiot friends who say how cool it is while staring at the tv.)
I know, my mind doesn;t work quite right. Songs I write tend to be sweet, happy melodies with blackened, off beat words about desperation and being alone. Anyways, thank you so much for taking an interest!!!

Excellent colors on this picture and a very unique use of the word Kamikaze. I like how the sun is Kamikazing the water much like a sunset in hawaii.

This is okay. The colours are good but I think that the working overides the sunset. The background colour should have been a brighter colour too

Is lovely and colourful, and original and bold, but scares me a bit as have horrible thoughts about what those pilots did to us in WW11, anyway, best wishes.
