A very good macro shot with excellent focus and DoF. The detail in the fly has been enhanced by the sharpening used andthe cropping gives the subject more importance, the colours also are good. My only small criticism is that the light is a little harsh and maybe a tweak of the highlights in Photoshop would improve this. This is a good quality shot and thank you for sharing.

I took a picture of a fly yesterday and decided that Aussie flies must be the most colorless boring insects out. Yours has a vibrancy of color around the eyes which seems to reflect in the wings. Good focus and composition.

Good work and very good clarity and detail. The black background works well to bring out the green and the composition is good. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot. I can relate to how you feel. I tried to capture an image of a fly once and gave up.lol I think we need to put some crazy glue on the leaves so we can get them to stay long enough to catch them hehe.Great close up and detail, i love it !! good color, clarity, exposure.very nice image.

Patience pays. And you have proved it right. This is a remarkable close up shot, expressively depicted, and that too of a low life fly! The colours, focus and the details have come out really well. great shot!

Can not figure out what happened.

Taking a macro image at f5 and getting an image this sharp is amazing as the dof is very small.

The main issue with this image is the lack of any delicate tones and loss of the fine detail. It almost looks as the image was over exposed then post processing was used to bring the brightness values back down and in the process, all of the delicate bright tones would be lost. Is this a major crop?

To shoot this image I would use an iso of about 400 and an fstop of about 11-14 for sunlit and f11 to f18 if flash with a 100mm macro lens.

On natural light, I would let the camera set the shutter speed. I would also use a monopod to assist in holding the camera steady and in place an I would take about a dozen images and hope that one will come out.

Shooting this image in sunlight will also tend to create heavy reflections. I try to shoot a subject like this in the shade.
