Thank you so very much! I can only wish for the parent bird. I have got some of her but only while sitting on the ground. She does not like me being there! She did come and buzz me while I was on the ladder!

How lucky you are to have been able to witness the miracle of these, oh so small, birds being hatched and then following their day by day existence .. you will be sad when they finally fly away, but maybe mom and dad will return next year to do it all over again .. the photograph is precious .. good job and good luck in the contest .. jill

This is a lovely photo. As far as I remember you have posted another photo of this nest with just the mother. Must have been very exciting to follow the development. Your focus is pin sharp. Lovely details both in the birds and the nest. Excellent use of light. Nicely cropped and nice placement of the birds within the frame. Well balanced image with good DOFF. Good luck with the contest.

A really delightful study of baby birds in their nest.Your notes add good interest to your photograph and give an insight into the habits of humming birds which is fascinating. The focus and DoF are good and the detail and colour in the main subject is excellent, I just wish we had such creatures in the UK. Thank you for sharing.

Wow this is really neat! The colors and the composition are great! The lighting is nice and the story telling ability is good too. My only suggestion is turning up brightness, contrast, and/or saturation a bit to give it a stronger initial impact. Great shot!

Georgeous picture, very good composition, focus and color. The birds look a bit cramped in the nest so agree they won't be there much longer. Thanks for sharing and good luck with comp

I only have 5 stars, but this is truly a magnificent shot. I was amazed when you said the opening of the nest was about the size of a quarter. These birds are really tiny! I know baby birds are small, but I keep forgetting how small, especially hummingbirds. They look so much bigger on my laptop, even in the small photo, then they actually are, which is unusual. They appear to be looking for their dinner. i like the delicate coloring of the nest. Thank you for the details of how it is made. This must be outside of one of your upstairs' windows.

Thank you so very much! No it is a maple tree not to far from my home in a friends front yard. I took this standing on a ladder! I found out recently that the praying mantis is an enemy and will kill and eat full grown hummers. Also the sound of the light sabors in the move starwars was recorded humming bird wings.
