I think Swallowtails are one of the loveliest butterflies around. I love the colors that border thier wings. Your image shows the butterfly off beautifully! From the hairs to the veins in the wing your DOF is wonderful. Love the hilight on the eyes and the small bit of texture revealed. THe lighing here does not glare and is perfect!
Though you did crop the wings I don't think it affects the beauty of the picture at all.

I think Swallowtails are one of the loveliest butterflies around. I love the colors that border thier wings. Your image shows the butterfly off beautifully! From the hairs to the veins in the wing your DOF is wonderful. Love the hilight on the eyes and the small bit of texture revealed. THe lighing here does not glare and is perfect!
Though you did crop the wings I don't think it affects the beauty of the picture at all.

If I might in my opinion if the whole butterfly was in it would be much better. Also the ISO 400 is a little to grainy.
Good framing and detail.

This is spectacular! I admire you for aiming for the real story. Most photographers would forsake the beauty of the feeding body and such an exotic plant, just to get the wings.. You are very brave. I like that creative clever trait that it takes to do this. Excellent work.

The sharpness is awesome. You can see segmentation in the antennae, and feel the suede of her wings. The dark green blurred- out background works well with the swallowtails colors. I would have like to have seen the whole butterfly. The eyes of the wings are the most captivating parts. Very nice. Please post more swallowtails!

The sharpness is awesome. You can see segmentation in the antennae, and feel the suede of her wings. The dark green blurred- out background works well with the swallowtails colors.
