Nice shot, Willie! I have to wonder when these hummingbirds are going to tire of you "flashing" them and find another feeder. lol Hopefully not for awhile. What can be said of this image? There's nothing to improve and I think you already know what's good about it so... thanks for sharing!

Thank you so very much! Sometimes they fly from the flash but they come back but most of the time they don't!

Great photograph Willie Cyber 6 for your effort I still can't give you a real one. I have been trying for a week to get a good shot of the hummer that comes to a feeder on my window sill but it is under a porch roof and it id pretty dim and facing west. I tried using reflectors and waiting the sun was shining toward them but it just didn't work. I think I am going to get some studio lamps and set up. I tried the flash with the soft box but it limits the shutter to 250. Any suggestions? Oh well enough of my woes. Great photo. Dave

Thank you so very much! I have been using the external flash! I have been shooting some today at 1500/sec. I shot 50 times and got three good ones! The camera flash limits me to 250/sec. I don't know what to tell you other than to get out the book or goggle it!

He have a so nice colors in brown and yellow and with little white on his tail and all of this making so beautiful composition with this great bird and lovely background.Thanks for sharing this extraordinary picture with us and best regards and best wishes,

If you wanted to keep the green, you would have adjusted the contrast on a duplicate of the original and added a layer mask. Then you could have left the contrast adjustment on the Humming Bird but brushed the adjustment off the background. I wish i had a 6 for you on this. He is so well defined.

Beautiful capture Willie! He looks well on black. For it to have turned black means the green was very dark. If you wanted to keep the green, you would have adjusted the contrast on a duplicate of the original and added a layer mask. Then you could have left the contrast adjustment on the Humming Bird but brushed the adjustment off the background. I wish i had a 6 for you on this. He is so well defined.

This is a great shot of the hummingbird. The little flecks of yellow stand out very well against the brown and white feathers. I have only seen a handful of these birds as they pass by. This is a good shot.
