Proof that perseverance pays off! Nice catch of a split second. The darkness drowns out the beak details, but the iridescence of the dorsal feathers and the sweet twinkle in the eye really brighten things up. It's easy to appreciate the blur that comes with the motion of the wings in most cases like this, but the lack of it here is so unique that it's priceless. Beauty!

What a great photo. You have been dong a lot of work to get your photographs; great notes. The black back round really makes the colors in the hummingbird stand out. Very eye pleasing image. The focus and clarity is wonderful. The details in the bird really pops from the page. These birds are so fast when you are watching them that you do not get to enjoy the beautiful colors that they have in them, but you have capture the colors very well in your photograph.
