I am so sorry that you had such a rough childhood. They is so much poverty in the world and it doesn't seem like we can ever do enough! This is a wonderful painting. You can feel the children's hunger and despair radiating from them. The lack of color anywhere but on the childen draws your eye straight to them. Great job!

Such an impact image and emotional story. Our local new crew sent reporters dumpster diving to research how much food we waste, an unbelievable amount was discovered. They estimated that if we managed to stop wasting all our resources if may be possible to stop hunger in America. Great stuff, thanks for killing my buzz, lol

It is a crime that children go to bed hungry in this country that has enough food to feed the entire world. Welfare fraud and other stupidity keeps goods from going where they are truly needed (and appreciated). I think that nuturing our children in all ways is the best investment we could ever make. I grew up with little...my father even less...he lived behind dumpsters for many a year. Your story is something I identify with and empathize with. As for the painting in front of me, the initial impact was strong-the vibrant colors juxtaposed against the greys is very eye catching. The storytelling is moving. The lighting is good but after closer examination I found that the child (?) in purple seems somewhat distorted. That is, the head appears the size and facial shaping of an adult but the rest of the body appear child size. If not for this, I would think it deserving of a ten; with that in mind I still rated a five for I see the technique to be professional standing. Thank you for sharing not only your talent but of your personal story.

This is so sad and you sure have opened up some eyes here! Poor mites and the feeling to this art work is touching for all to see! So many children are suffering needlessly and a pity most truly don;t care! We have the same problems here and the city is doing everything they can to eliminate the worldwide problem! The reality sure struck home!

your early childhood story makes me feel very sad
I'm glad your life improved
thanks for sharing your story and for creating an image that tells this story
very well done
the one child sleeping on the other, the grey brick or stone walls, the vent, no shoes, the caps..all tell the story
good composition, color
like the shadow on the left
nice detail of repeated pattern at the top
like the greys and blacks in this photo

It is say that there are so many children out there that can't find something to fill there stomachs. I like what your are expressing here. You drawing is very good. Very nice color in it. There is very nice depth in your drawing. The way you have the children positioned really shows what you are trying to express. Well done.
