This is so neat the way you caught the three of them like this. I like the way you see so far down the road. I think this would bee better if you cropped some of the foreground. That would also bring the birds up in the picture.

Thanks again Anne, considered cropping but decided to leave to show the problem of trying to catch up to them :)

Awwww how cute and the chicks are a bit older, they seem to be missing their stripes! Too cute would make a great family contest entry Mary! Nice focus with a great natural setting for the three of them!! Great d.o.f. as they walk down the looooooong path! Nice capture!

Thanks Mary, ues they are a bit older we saw some smaller ones in a compound later which still had the stripes, couldn't get photos though because of the wire fence around area.

What character this family of three brings to this landscaped visual pathway for the eye to wander into. Love the soft natural tones, the depth of the walkway that pulls us into the scene as well as the soft light.

The focus could be sharper. It seems a bit soft. Love the photo though and a great composition with good storytelling.

Thanks so much, the focus was an issue as I was trying to move quickly after them and adjust at same time - think my husband should have taken a picture of that (good job he hasn't got a camera). Cheers Mary

moments like these are hard to come across. there's nothing at all wrong with is picture. but i do wonder how you got so close to them but have been the zoom on your camera.

Thanks, we pretty much stumbled on each other as we wandered around the old gypsum town (photo's of that to come).

...and beware of a protective emu mother!
Good natural shot with good lighting and colors. Good artist's note, very informative.
The long view of the dirt road underlines the story - mother taking her offspring out off danger range

looks as thought you were have a grand old adventure. To see these kinds of birds just roaming must have been a treat. I have seen these at petting zoos. Technically a good shot. love the story and the lighting is good

Good placement of them in the photo. It sounds like most mothers when the babies are around. Thanks for all of the interesting information on he. Maybe next time you will have better luck.
