This is quite a capture Willie. The bird is excellent. Very strong exposure on him. The wings add the movemement & i think it works better having them blurred. Its what we expect to see with a hummingbird.
The focus is perfect & cropping excellent with room for him to move into.
The black background is both undisracting & provides an excellent contrast to the bird. Very well done Willie

This one has an impact all of its own, possibly because of the captured movement in the hummingbird's wings.. separates this from a portrait of sitting bird and, in my opinion, generates more excitement! Composition is good with the bird off-center, and the frame is completely distraction-free, thanks to your dark background. Exposure is perfect -- the highlights have not been burned out -- and that shutter speed is ideal.. love the motion in the wings without losing a sense of what they are. Impressive stop action on the rest of the bird. Stunning work, thanks for sharing it!
