Myself in front of a mirror

Transparencies are such a mystifying and highly entertaining element of long exposures. Using the mirror was an ingenious technique. It really adds dynamic to the photo. It seems to me you did a splendid job, being your first time experimenting with this. It is indeed, a difficult task having the model remain completely still, but is especially important when the face is being photographed. Here's a small trick to keep in mind- have the subject hold their breath if it is a reasonable amount of time. Anyways I enjoyed the photo. Thank you.

Thank you very much for the lovely review and comments. Since you are new to this site, I first of all would like to welcome you. I would also like to point out that when you give 4 stars you are meant to tell me what is wrong with the photo and what you think can be improved to make it better. Your review doesn't have any suggestions like this.

Long exposure is a fascinating technique and I think you really captured the essence of the contest with this image. Shooting with the flash off gave this an antique quality, like sepia, which I like, adding to the theme of "time". It's nicely composed and offers an interesting story. Good luck to you in the contest!

Very interesting work.
The tones create an intriguing atmosphere. The eye travels back and forth into the picture which is a great effect.
The only thing that in my opinion may be too strong for the softness of the composition is the the dark image on the left side.
Overall a good and interesting shot.
Keep at it, it is a very good start.

This is very clever, and a good idea. Not just because of the ghostly image but also because of the golden tones adding a feeling of magic to the photograph.

I think this turned out very well. I've done a lot of long exposure shots and move out of the frame half way through, so I understand how difficult (and yet how fun) these shots can be. Nice job.

well...i like this
i can tell u are an artist cause of your imagination and doing something unique, which this is!
its kind of 3D and transparent as i can see rt through your subject
i like the placement or your camera as it helps set up what u are doing and well as helping with rule of thirds..which i can also see on of your rt subject reflection.
effective use of light
nice composition
good detail on subject
nice tones and good blend of colour
the shadows seem like a frame which pulls eyes towards subject
very nice
u frame this for your wall
thanks

Hello friend, great work, very creative and so cool. I can imagine the time and effort you put into this. Wonderful work.
I think you have a typo in your foot notes, the first word "God" maybe "good"?

you know there is an old mystic observation, that one is challanged in our journey to meet ourself, we are to see ourself, the basic idea is that the true human sees in its reflection the imperfections and it is only at that moment that the reflected image can be made more perfect...this is a great concept photo
