This is such a beautiful painting, it flows really well. You work very well with pastels, & the way you added the light shinning down. The wings are amazing, they look so life like. I love how I can feel the what the angel felt, just from looking at her head down like she was broken. Its the way you blended the pastels, that makes this picture come alive.

Nice work of art. I love the monochromatic feel of the piece. The light coming in from above is great, and i love the angel looking away.
Good Job.

Aww thank you so much for such a brilliant review, I am so touched with your comments. Not sure if it will reach the all time best certificate, you tend to get more reviews in the featured slots but its ridiculously pricey to get that and my reviewing dollars have all dried out... again lol Ah well I dont mind, the response to this one has been overwhelming, the reviews I have already is enough for me :) Thank you sooooooo much for taking the time out to review this, I really appreciate it.

its a pity this site works as it does because some fantastic work gets missed

Wonderful! Sometimes the black card is important to communicate mood and emotion. I love the detail of the wings on the angel and the flow of her body. The lightsource is well placed and overall is a great piece. thanks for sharing

Thank you so much, yes I am beginning to learn that different coloured backgrounds really add a whole new dimension to a piece. I do love the drama the black can give, next step would to be to add some colour in, wonder how that would turn out
-
I wouldn't add too much, that would eliminate the power of black and white. Just pick something, you would like to pop out, and colour that.
-
very true,I am thinking a touch of red. I have seen some photographers that do that and its really quite striking. I think I have just figured out what to play with next lol Thanks for the tip ;)
-
Well I have done another angel but given her a red dress it def pops out at you. Will post it tomorrow when I have better light to take the pic. I can see me trying this out again, its quite striking!

This is truly beautiful and very emotion evoking image and that is exactly what an artist hopes to get from their audience....emotion.
Your handling of the angel at such a lower dimension of the card is brilliant, well thought out...truly she is at the bottom. It is a smack on representation of a fallen angel, it almost looks like a photograph...and because of the clarity with which you have depicted therein stirs the emotion in us.
Technically your proportions are perfect and I'm glad that part of the wing is off the card for indeed she no longer can use her wings, for she has fallen...it all adds to this wonderful image, to the story.
Fallen from the heavens where the light is (upper left) with yellow tinges not to be missed...no need to show her face for you have captured beautifully the emotion within this angel in the positioning of her body.
You have a great tonality from the darkest of darks to the lightest of lights. Is her right leg to thick at the top ?
I also like the fact that you have your name humbly tucked away for it is not your name that shouts out this is a great piece of art it is your art itself that will enlarge your name in the eyes of people.
Very beautiful...I wish I had more stars to give this angel...alas.
