New shoots coming from a dead tree stump

Those who are determined will come through, and these little sprouts were determined to be the first signs of spring.

The photo has captured that well. I like the various shades of drab grey to warm brown, and then of course those few most important leaves of green. Nice clarity, balance, and composition, which includes the whole round of the stump.
Thank you for your special story and this reminder that we all start small and not always in the best of circumstances - but we survive!

Nice light capturing with the rusty feelings of the corner to the natural beauty. The balanced scattering of the shaded areas look great.

I understand your reason for taking this image, the baby shoots, but I don't feel its a strong composition. The shoots are just to small to hold the eye, and there's nothing else to focus on really. You've got good colour in the rubbish. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for your comments. I tend to agree with, but it was the only picture I could find at the present that would fit the contest.

I like color photos that look black and white because of snow and clouds but then have a small splash of color to prove they actually are a color photo.
This is so similar except a brown and white photo and then the green leaves pop up in the middle. Great catch, I like it!

Very nice picture and I love the various shades of brown and tan. Great focus. Only thing is I wish the sprouts weren't getting lost in the shot. Nice job though

Isn't it amazing what nature sometimes brings us? I like all naturalness of this image. From the debris to the new growth. Tells us just how mysterious Nature is.

I love this as an incredible abstract piece of art. The clarity of the shot is perfect and the textures and color tones are wonderful throughout the entire composition. I wish I had a 10 to give you but I only have fives. Thank you for allowing me to view and review this excellent piece of abstract art.

This is so neat the way you took it. I like the way you see all the details in the tree stump. How great that you have all those little green shoots coming up like this. An interesting picture. Good luck in the contest.
