This is a great photo Willie, but the filter seems as if it has taken away from the image. The shot does not have your normal great jump off the page look to it. Your shot is definitely well focus showing plenty of detail in the bird. The colors a alive and pleasant to the eye. I am just not nuts about the poster edge filter, but that is a matter of personal opinion, and has nothing to do with the quality of the photograph itself.
Have a great day Willie.

OK I see the poster edge filter you mentioned earlier not sure I like the effect but if it helps regain some focus I might learn to love it. LOL.
Good focus
Good lighting
Good composition
Good initial impact
Good center of interest
Good overall presentation
Thanks for sharing. Dave

Thank you so very much! If something has a soft focus it will help it a lot! It is in the artistic section.

Nice catch of the downy woodpecker. The poster edge filter adds a little texture to the image but I think it would be even better without it but that is just me. I still like it. Super clarity, presented well with good impact. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, what a great close-up. A real eye catcher. Good clarity and focus bringing out all the detail in his feathers. I like how you capture him with the seed. Having the tree and bird at an angle makes it more interesting. This is a pleasure to look at.

This is a nice, sharp image of this woodpecker. I have these on our property whre one is living in a tree near the shop. I love how you caught him with the sunflower seed here and the way his feathers are so soft looking that you want to touch them.

Think the Downy Woodpecker I had been trying to get a clear photograph of here (during a horrendous for WA snow storm) flew the coop and headed for Kentucky where you got this great shot of him. LOVE how you got him with a sunflower seed in his beak. Precious pose. A adore the moss on the tree bark. Background is perfect. Only small green line above upper right (pine needle) that anyone could ever point to as any type distraction. The picture other wise is flawless; perfect composition with great focus, expertly cropped for a close up image of a lovely woodpecker. I love it; thank you for sharing.
