Beautiful photo of the morning dove. The clarity of the bird and twig she is standing on. Colors are also beautiful. Nice work, Sherry

Good shot Willie I always have them hanging around here. One year I was counting them for the great American bird count that Cornell does and had 46 in my yard. I read once the need to drink their weight in water each day. Dave

Thank you so very much! I have not heard about the water. that may be why you see a lot in the river bottoms.

I always enjoy your bird shots Willie. Love the Morning Dove too! When I was a kid I thought their Coos were where the "Who" of the owl. Love this guys' curiosity! Looks like he's eyeing you! Beautiful lighting and DOF as always!

Great Job! You are a master of this! :o) Helvi

Oh Willie, I have the doves too. This is a great shot of a very special creature with the blue orbiting the eye and great detail of the feet. I'll put pix of mine up soon. Good job.

What's to eat on these little darlings anyway. A hole hunters. This is a clear and clean shot. She posed just for the camera. The feet are captivating. The branch adds wonderful balance and gives perspective to this work. The plumage looks like soft velvet. NICE

Wow you really took this one close up. I like the way she is looking at you. I like all the detail you see in the close up. I like the way she shows up against that green background. An excellent and beautiful picture.

I love these birds. When I lived in the Delta I would hear them and love the sound they made. It saddened me when dove season came around because the hunters would go crazy with shooting these little birds. It should be outlawed as it takes an awful lot of them to make a meal. You did an outstanding capture here. Love how you can see those red feet and all the clear detail of his face.

So glad they are safe in your yards.
This is such a wonderful picture.
This dove looks like he is thriving.
Like seeing how red/pink his feet are, and it's a surprise after the more neutral colors of his feathers.
Nice that he is facing front, and looking side. We can see his eyes and beak, as well as the full span of his chest.
Good composition, exposure, and clarity. nice backround with the green color enhancing the picture.
nice to have a second branch for balance.
Great shot!!

Gorgeous close-up of a dove. Never knew their feet were red. Ahh, what the macro world allows us to see. Thanks Willie.

I have SO never understood the appeal of hunting these..small, and seems a bit silly! Beautiful shot, and you make herlook so sweet and vulnerable. Lovely detail on the plant too. Donkeyoatey
