What a beautiful close up shot, Willie, of this red bellied woodpecker! Love the light, the beauty of his red plumage, your focal strengths as well as your selective focus that lends us that rich green soft blended backdrop that isolates. Life does have a cycle that needs to not disrupted. It's good that you note aspects some might never realize.

I saw all the excellent reviews that you have received and I almost did not open it up. Having done so, I pulled the browser over onto a large monitor and was absolutely spell bound at the incredible clarity and color of this birds feathers. This truly is a masterful capture and thank you for sharing this with us.

Wonderful capture here, the dexterity of that long beak is amazing. I love the composition and the clarity that allows me to see the tiny details of its feathers and eye but even the tiny hairs under its beak. thanks for sharing. Cyn

Such a striking pic with a very clear focus on the subject. It would have been beautiful even without the sunflower seed but of course it adds another dynamic. The out of focus background is nicely appropriate and green shows that the bird is in a nature environment, very well down.
