Difficult to do shots like this. Animals do not usually pose for the photographer. This was nicely caught. Great photo. Composition is good as is the action. The color is bright and the bird's eye is of some prominence. The soft green background with the slight darkening on the upper right corner works very well.

Outstanding capture! This is by far the prettiest woodpecker I have every seen. Stunning color, focus, clarity and framing. You can even see the tiny chin hairs! Wonderful in every way. Thanks for sharing.
