A good strong composition again Willie. Lovely colours and fine detail in its plumage.Nice expression helped by the eye and the seed adds interest. Needs a bit of cloning of the bottom right. Mitch.

Very cool picture. How often do we get the pleasure of actually seeing a bird carrying a seed. Focus is sharp and colors are bright. Great use of depth of field to blur out the background. Great photo.

I too am an avid nature photography and have shot a number of birds. Your photo is cropped a little different than most giving us closeup of just the head. I like the clairity and fine detail of the feathers and eye. The sunflower seed is a real bonus. Nice soft backround and a well planned crop giving a diagonal movement right up to the seed. You must have been fairly close to the subject to capture the head with such detail, even with a 300mm.

I too am an avid nature photography and have shot a number of birds. Your photo is cropped a little different than most giving us closeup of just the head. I like the clairity and fine detail of the feathers and eye. The sunflower seed is a real bonus. Nice soft backround and a well planned crop giving a diagonal movement right up to the seed. You must have been fairly close to the subject to capture the head with such detail, even with a 300mm.

Nice shot of the Red-Bellied Woodpecker. most people lump flickers,sapsuckers, and all woodpeckers together.
