I can't really see the belly, but I would not be surprised at all if it wasn't red. LOL What I do see is a red head, and a very nice one I might add. The green background couldn't have been more perfect, and the bird is really standing so nicely out from it.

Your focus is usual spot on shoeing a shiny bright eye and lovely details in the feathers. I like the way the woodpecker is holding a sunflower seed in its beak. The use of light is just excellent and all the colors seem nice and natural.

I like the profile pose of the bird and the way you have placed it within the frame. The tight cropping is perfect. This is just another in a big line of wonderful bird shots. In my opinion most of your photos deserve a 5 +, but as you know there are limitations for a poor reviewer. Your image is also nicely balanced and with great initial impact.
