Wow, amazing, you must have been very patience to get this photo, can't imagine how many shots would I need to shoot before getting one not nearly great as this one. Amazing focusing, perfect colors, great timing. Thanks so much for sharing, again, if I could, I would give more than five stars.

wonderful capture of my favorite bird.
Love the colors on this one, and in the whole picture.
The greens and oranges are good together...very pretty.
Like where the bird is placed in the photo.
There's a good balance to the shot...nice composition.
There is depth too with flowers going back into the picture and then the blur..which enhances.
Like the amount of light you have.

another great one of yours !!

you're so lucky to have such a wildlife near you..here it's a pain the butt to get nice shots of animals, apart in zoos ,or ducks who are everywhere...

it's a brilliant shot, knowing that hummingbirds are very fast-moving birds, you've done an excellent job !

Wonderful! I like the coloring and the lighting too. Good contrast and sharpness. Focus is a marvel on the bird and flower. If you used 1/1000s can you imagine the wings speed as you couldn't catch them steady? Thanks for sharing.

You got a great capture here, with excellent focus and composition. The orange flowers really catch the eye, and the little hummer is perfectly poised over one to show of herself while at the same time not obstructing the view of the flowers. Really nice work.

Great entry for the contest, Willie. Good luck. Colors are excellent in this one .
Wings are a tad soft but then they never stop fluttering. Nicely done

She has lots of color (green iridescence) for a female. Love the contrast the flowers provide. Think I would add a soft brown tint to the white swash on the right side of the frame.

I do love hummingbirds, they are such vibrant creatures-delicate yet tough to travel the vast distances they must travel. Very nice composition.

Great job making a difficault look easy. I have a 70-300 macro zoom and I have taken a lot of butterfly/flowers and an occasional hummer and getting everything set right with a bird darting about it not easy. You nailed the focus on the bird while keeping a reasonable DOF. Getting the flower in front of the plane of the bird is a real plus. Were you at the full 400mm when you shot? Amazing how fast those wings beat. Even at 1/1000 some blur. Very good cropping keeping the bird in the 1/3 area of the view. Love the colors. I wonder if the female ruby throats outnumber the males. Seen many more of them.

Thank you so very much for a good review and high score! I am shooting a 70-300mm lens and it was on 300.

Very nice shot after some determined tracking! Think I would be considering cropping on the right to remove the flower and the cloned weed and then clone again! Like the sharpness of the bird and the selective focus on the flowers. Exposure spot on, well done, very nice shot!
