These birds are so pretty, and even if the male looks more impressive with all the red I have started to like little female. She is standing so nicely out from the green background and even with a seed still stuck in her beak.

Your focus is nice and sharp showing lovely details in the feathers and the exposure is spot on. I also think the colors are nice and natural.

I also like very much the pose showing so well the eager looking eye. The bird is also well placed within the frame together with a neat cropping. Another well taken shot of a Cardinal. I wish you luck with the contest.

WOW what a catch.

COMPOSITION
Compositionally you have placed the star of the show exactly where she is supposed to be...in the centre with room for her to fly, and for us to breathe...but I wonder if this is really the best composition? BEST of ALL...you have her looking at us and her eye (along with her feathers) is all in focus.

I am having tremendous difficulty in her amputation. Why is her body cut off? It is rather a static image.

TECHNIQUE
There is absolutely nothing to fault. You understand the workings of your camera and it shows. Your dof, is perfect, you pov is smack on , the ambient light and quality of light is beautiful.

SUGGESTIONS
I think a re-framing of this image would make it better. Try cropping in so only to include below his chin, tight to the right with large open to the left. It would bring our focus to his pretty little face in an artistic way. It's only a suggestion, do take it with a grain of salt.

Thank you so very much! she is standin on the feeder and i did not want to show that part. I showed the breast for the detail in the feathers. I agree with what you say about the crop.

Beautiful portrait of a very
Colorful bird. I like the
Out of focus background. The green
Works beautifully with the red and gold tones of the cardinal. You
Did a great job on this one.

Gorgeous photo willie. I love the background and the way the bird contrasts so well with it. Your feather detail is amazing. Excellent colour and light. Your colours are never overdone, I admire that.

This is a great close-up image of the bird. Good texture of the feathers. Too bad the whole bird isn't in the frame. Regardless, well done. Thanks for sharing.

This is a terrific capture of a female cardinal. I like the pose that the bird is in. The focus is super sharp. There is good contrast. There is good lighting. And there is good color saturation.

Great image! Such a clear focus to reveal beautiful details in the plumage. Good timing to catch this bird with a seed in cheek. Nice use of lighting with the highlighting of the beak. Wonderful job!
