Beautiful closeup of these round tubby little birds. Like you, I look forward to those couple of weeks when they are around. Lovely red on his breast. Do you think if you lightened the grey tones a bit, you might get more detail jump out from the black? It might just do it. Great shot though. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful closeup of these round tubby little birds. Like you, I look forward to those couple of weeks when they are around. Lovely red on his breast. Yes this is a very beautiful bird indeed put into a very nice full frame composition. Your photo is very sharp and very well exposed. Your settings provide great colours and lots of fine pleasing detail. Very good image, well done, good luck in your competition!

Nice centering and pose to this Grosbeak. The reflection in the pupil is intense and the colors in the plumage look like cotton. Wonderful balance and perspective to this piece.
