We have a pair of these for the first year, and that beak is truly an amazing thing. My wife named the male "Roman" because of his "nose". Great sharp and crisp shot, with nice detail of the breast feathers. Donkeyoatey

Awesome catch!! But it took me a while to figure out the there was a sunflower seed in his beak--it kind of looks like part of his beak. I'm not sure what it is but there is something unnatural about it, maybe the angle. I think you need a deeper dof to get more of the bird in focus. And some of the edges of the bird seem rough. I would chose something a bit softer for the bg to counter the intensity of the black red and white. Just some ideas. Hope it's okay. Paula

This is a nice capture of a rose breasted grosbeak. I never see this type of bird in Michigan. It has nice contrasting feathers. The focus is sharp. The composition is good.

Thank you so very much! You should see him in the summer as he migrates there and into Canada.

The beak looks on the button with the focus, But the rest of the bird is a bit soft, Maybe a smaller apeture would of given you more Dof.
