#4 Ranked Mixed Media Photographer

This is a beautiful photo. The feathers of the bird have gorgeous
detail,and perfect colors. And you
can even see the feet through the
water. You would never be able to do this in Central Park in NYC.
I love the way you added the frame.
Really you could hang it on any wall
right now.
The light is also great!! Bravo. Paula

A great photo of this duck. The matt you put around this photo takes away from the duck. I would of used a brown or light tan. But each of us are different.
Thanks for sharing Lou

Actually, I did try brown and tan, but for some reason, they didn't work for me. Thanks for not grading down on artistic choice. That's much appreciated. And thanks for your comments.

I love mallards. Nice capture. I like the reflection and the way one sees the feet underwater. Water ripped give sense of motion. I'm nit sure the vignette is necessary.

Thanks for your review. I used the oval frame to try to counter-act the squareness of the picture. The duck was swimming straight across. If he had been at a slight angle, it might have worked better compositionally, and then I would have felt no need to try to off-set. I don't know that it worked or made any difference, but no one has complained about the composition so far.. so maybe it did work.
But maybe you're just talking about the vignette, and not the frame. If that's the case, I tried without vignette, and it wasn't, to my eyes as effective. Anyway, this is a lot of verbiage.
    I appreciate your comments.

This is a beautiful shot of a mallard duck. I like how you have framed the duck with the oval border. The focus is sharp. The lighting is good. There is good color harmony.

while I am not fond of frames/vignettes, they worked well here. What makes the shot, of course, are the reflections, ripples and that emerald head.

This is a very nice work here and the oval framing here does add to the overall work. The duck is beautiful and you did a good job with this work.
