Nice idea here, good contrast. Frankly it would be a good abstract image without the insect ! Love the texture. NIce.

Thanks for the suggestion, might have to do the walk again and take some without the centipede :)

Yuck! Not my personal favorite to view. Te detail you got was amazing. Legs look like spikes. I don't think I would get any closer than you did. I like the rocky background

Nice capture of something creepy. His length is evident and you can count those legs. Nice capture of something different. He stands out nice against the background. Love it.

Cool! I have never seen one of these so close up before! I love how you captured him in such detail. My only suggestion might be to reduce the contrast a bit as some parts seem a little dark. Nicely done though!

Very nice Mother Nature photo of the centipede. Good lighting to show the detail in it. Good work under the conditions you mention. I do not know if a little vignette would make it stand out a little better.

I don't have a problem with the framing. This works for me, not only because it is interesting, but because the textures mix & match well, and the green legs (something new to me) just bring out something outside the browns, ochre and gray...makes you look again. Glad you didn't have to experiment with the toxicity of his bite!

I'd want to stay away from these too! Nasty looking little thing, with all those creepy (crawly) legs :) I would have given this 5 stars if it hadn't been taken from so far overhead, where you have little or no ability to employ depth of field and blur the background to isolate the subject. But you've got good colour here. And thanks for showing us this.

Thanks very much, I was down on the ground but it started moving so figured it was safer overhead :) happy with 1/2 star reduction under circumstances.
