I have always been amazed at what freedom has given us folks at the cost of so many good men/women in the last 100yrs especially. The freedom
to complain about so many things we don't understand about war. I can't count how many times i've heard about Bush and the weapons of mass destruction that weren't found. Yet people forget so easy. The problem with announcing to the world you are going to war, and then taking mths to actually do it is this. I watched an cnn convoy after convoy after convoy of army trucks covered going into Syria and returning on the other side uncovered. I'm taking thousands of trucks over a serveral wk period. I have only seen one article make the connection yet while it was happening i turned to my wife and said "on those trucks are weapons of mass destruction, when they attack you won't find any in the country!" We don't have to understand all the why's in life, but should be grateful the many are free, because of the few. I salute your post, sir.

Isn't it funny how so many can watch the news for days and still can't see, even if it's right in front of them. but i have to admit, this one surprized me more than most. Come on, before the war, they showed huge convoys of these trucks going back and forth.
This deserved a six star but they only give out six. I especially like giving them to remembrance photo's. Have a blessed day my friend. Ronny
Don't think Hussein thought it'd be over that quick if at all, and must have made some deal with Syria. After it was done, the deals didn't matter, eh? Curiousity
Question: did u know that modern day Iran is the old Persia?

Their expressions are heartwarming. All their emotion are on their faces. I love what you did with the medals. The tanks in the back left is represtal of what he has been through. On the right you have the why. thanks.

Full of emotions from the drawing to the notes. Policies do not matter it is the human forces on the ground. I fear inside everytime one of the family takes the car on a long journey. It has always been a rule to arrive at a certain place and ring home. Ring when you arrive and ring when you are leaving. how do partners cope with their love ones on the other side of the world in war zones not knowing if she/he will be home. I don't know if i could but would have too. thanking you for sharing.

This work of yours covers a whole lot of territory. I do know that these brave people put their lives on the line. My mates cousin gave his life for our freedom. I know for a fact how his whole family was affected when he was in Afghanistan for his 2nd term and how sad it was at the funeral. His wife, children, parents, and others really felt the loss. Too bad people can't live in peace and harmony. Our losses in Canada are little in comparison to what your country suffers. Your piece portrays the feeling very nicely. Well done. Thanks for sharing.

i have been saying (as it seemed to have applied to a few postings lately) that more often than not the text that accompanies the piece or art will often elevate the piece way beyond the level it would have achieved (no matter how good it is) on its own , this is an amazing case for that argument , the piece id fanatsic , the accompanting text elevates it sky high , this is something you should be really really proud of

when or if i can get time (and i love to be able to paint the scene) about my dad who was badly blown up in WW2 , he was shipped back to england to get better treatment , my mum was 7 months pregnant with me , rather than risk her getting the telegram that he,d been injured he jumpted the train came home, still in a tattered and torn batttle dress, as he turned into the top end of the street my gran was lowering my 15 month old sister down our front steps , saw this soldier , came back inside and said to mum "if Joe wasnt in france I,d swear he was coming down the street" amazingly after a lot of help including getting a lift in a jeep from two G,I,s he got back to the hospital that same night , there ive told it , it paints such a romantis picture in my mind of dad , tattered battle dress etc , something out of a film

Thank you for your support of the military community with your art piece. I appreciate your efforts to bring attention to struggles of families of deployed soldiers. Most of the details are correct in the medals are correct. Super work!

What a marvelous write up to go with this picture. This is an awesome work of art the way you have done it. I like all the things that you have put in this. The depth you created is great. I really like the way you have the two people in this. I wish more people felt the way you have expressed in your write up. If only the protestors would wake up and realize that they are the ones that are doing exactly what the enemy wants, creating discord at home. An excellent work of art.
