Excellent capture. I'm always amazed at photos of hummingbirds. I've tried but never manage to capture them very well. I love the action in the wings. Nice focus on the bird and flower. Great dof and composition. Great visual impact. Thanks for sharing.

WOW! Hummers are my favorite birds and you have nailed this shot! Wonderful stop-action and the flowers at the side and bottom frame draw my attention to center stage! Awesome!

The blue thing on the foot is interesting. I'm not sure what it is either. I like how the image shows motion and only the head and main flower are in completely focus. The colors and lighting are also good. Thanks for sharing.

I see that blue on the foot. The focus is just fine on the front daisy and hummingbird-- good center of interest. Good bright colors and cheerful. Great work, Willie:)

What a wonderful action shot Willie. So sharp and in focus, beautiful colours. Background blurred to highlight the foreground. Well done Sean

Herewith you have presented the mystery of the day! It really does look like a band, but even if it was banded, they are not long. Could it possibly be a piece of bloom that stuck to his tiny claw on his little foot? So zooming in further didn't help identify it? Hmmmm
Regardless of what it is, I continue to be amazed at photographers who capture this little aerodynamic creatures so clearly. I like your composition, with the various heights of the flowers, and how they are all of the same color. Awesome catch and beautiful presentation. Many thanks for sharing this mystery and this pretty picture!

Thank you so very much! I did not see it while shooting but after the download I saw it and wondered then what it was. I thought with this contest it would be the perfect time to post it!

everything certainly came together to make this shot. The focus working with the light allows the details of the flower and feathers of the bird to be well defined to the viewer. The positon of the subject to come out with a great composition and finally the depth of field blurring out the background to to the point to give the sense of motion. The motion is important in a shot like this because is shows the high speed hurriness of this wonderful bird. Thank you for sharing.
