Yes, this is a study in contrasts and textures. Those yellow flowers look like tissue paper against the puple leaves of the cactus. Good composition, focal point and clarity. Well done my friend and good luck in the contest. Cyn

Ummm- that is pretty! I have a purple cactus that has never bloomed (need a friend?)- but I keep hoping to see flowers some day, and I think, after seeing this one, that they will be yellow! It makes a lovely and unusual combination. This shot is so nice with the central flower and the part of a couple more on the edges, and especially with the hip to the left where the flower had been. A beautifully done capture. Good luck in the contest!

Well framed. Beautiful color. The way the light hits the flower almost gives them a diaphanous look. It's a trick to the eyes, but the shadow play, and light makes them feel silky. Very well done.

Beautiful photograph. Clarity is great as is the focus. ok composition and great colors. I really like the clarity of the stamens you were able to capture but the cut off flowers both on there right top and the left are a huge distraction to me Thank you for sharing your photograph.
